McCarthy Construction – Spur District Development (IQHQ)

PROJECT OVERVIEW

Project Overview

In 2024, Geofoam America partnered with McCarthy Construction to support the Spur District development by IQHQ, a real estate investment trust focused on life sciences innovation.

Located in South San Francisco’s biotech corridor, this project required high-performance materials aligned with advanced laboratory and research facility standards.

Geofoam America supplied 650 cubic yards of Geofoam used for wall fill applications and roof insulation systems.

HIGHLIGHTS

Project Highlights

  • 650 cubic yards supplied
  • Life sciences commercial development
  • South San Francisco, California
  • Completed 2024

THE CHALLENGE

The Challenge

Life sciences developments require structural precision, load control, thermal performance, and efficient construction timelines. Traditional fill materials can introduce unnecessary weight and complicate elevated structural applications, especially in wall assemblies and rooftop systems.

THE BENEFITS
